Chooseday’s Choice! ~ Landfill or recycle bin?
Approximately 400,000 tonnes of paper and cardboard packaging is placed on the Irish market every year. Each family uses about six trees worth of paper every year and makes almost 20% of the weight of the average household bin. Remember, recycling one tonne of paper saves enough energy to power a computer for almost a year and also saves over eight cubic metres of landfill space.
You Choose!

I was taking a compost workshop last week Mary and they were shocked how much rubbish they were throwing away that could be composted or recycled.
Dee I think that unless people actually physically see the amount of rubbish they’re throwing away they are of the belief that they are reusing/recycling/composting everything possible. We had a Tidy Towns workshop last year on recycling and composting and it was a real eye opener. Overtime with a little bit of practice and thought there shouldn’t be much going to landfill.
